Ford Theater – Hollywood Hills
Preserving a Landmark Without Missing Opening Night
The Challenge
Tucked into the Hollywood Hills, the Ford Theater is one of LA’s most cherished cultural venues. The expansion project included a full seismic upgrade, tunneling beneath the historic structure to create new usable space, and the construction of an adjacent operations building.
The catch? The site was geologically complex, access was limited, and the schedule couldn’t slip, not with a theatrical season already booked.
What RED BRICK Delivered
We managed the planning and scheduling strategy to:
- Coordinate tunneling and foundation upgrades under an active historic venue
- Keep construction moving without triggering structural risk or project delays
- Sequence work to ensure no disruption to the theatrical season launch
- Oversee logistics and scheduling for the new operations building and seismic improvements
Key Wins
- Delivered construction on time for venue’s reopening and season kickoff
- Mitigated complex site and seismic risks without impact to existing structure
- Maintained full transparency and coordination with historical and cultural oversight groups
Why It Matters
Cultural venues like Ford Theater don’t get “extensions.” They have seasons to launch, reputations to protect, and public trust to uphold.
RED BRICK delivered a historic expansion that honored the past while securing the future—and never missed a deadline.
